Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor – Public Administration/Political Science

About the role

University of Malawi’s Department of Politics and Government is seeking qualified academics to join its faculty as Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor in Public Administration and Political Science. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and departmental development for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Public Administration and Political Science, prepare teaching materials, and set and mark examinations promptly.
• Conduct original research within the area of specialization and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
• Supervise undergraduate dissertations and postgraduate theses, providing guidance and academic support.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, committees and professional activities to enhance the academic environment.
• Initiate and lead research projects, seeking collaborations and funding opportunities.
• Contribute to resource mobilization efforts, including grant writing and partnership development.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of Department to support the department’s objectives.
