Health Programme Manager – Humanitarian Sector

About the role

The Health Programme Manager will support the Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) in planning, coordinating, implementing, and reporting on health components of the Community Resilience Programme (COMREP) and the ECHO‑funded Nutrition and Health Response. Based in Lilongwe, the role also contributes to emergency response and outbreak preparedness across Malawi.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to MRCS on health programme design and delivery.
• Coordinate implementation, quality assurance, and reporting for COMREP health outputs and the ECHO nutrition‑health project.
• Support emergency health response initiatives and outbreak preparedness activities.
• Facilitate collaboration with consortium partners including Icelandic Red Cross, Danish Red Cross Youth, RCRC Livelihoods Resource Centre, and Save the Children.
• Ensure compliance with Danish Red Cross and donor reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Resident of Malawi with a strong commitment to humanitarian health programming.
• Experience in managing health projects within the humanitarian sector.
• Ability to work closely with MRCS, international partners, and donor agencies.
• Knowledge of community health, disaster risk reduction, and outbreak response.
