Facilitation Skills Consultant

About the role

The Facilitation Skills Consultant will work on‑site in Zomba to design and deliver training programmes that enhance the facilitation capabilities of One Acre Fund staff and field facilitators who support smallholder farmers. This contract position focuses on creating interactive learning experiences and providing coaching to ensure effective farmer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt training curricula, materials and tools tailored to diverse, rural audiences.
• Lead interactive workshops and facilitation sessions for staff and field facilitators.
• Coach participants through practice exercises, give constructive feedback and monitor progress.
• Conduct structured evaluations of training sessions and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with program teams to align facilitation methods with organisational goals.
• Document best practices and lessons learned for future use.

Required profile

• Proven facilitation and training experience, especially in interactive workshop settings.
• Ability to design, adapt and implement learning materials for varied audiences.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills with a focus on constructive feedback.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage participants at different experience levels.
• Experience working in rural or community‑based environments, preferably within agriculture, development or nonprofit sectors.
