Examinations Officer (UM8)

About the role

The Examinations Officer will serve on the university’s examination and evaluation committees, ensuring smooth planning, execution and reporting of all assessments. The role involves coordinating exam schedules, managing question paper production, and handling any irregularities to uphold academic integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a member of relevant examination and evaluation committees of the University.
• Arrange all logistics for examinations, tests and evaluations, including scheduling and venue preparation.
• Prepare and communicate the examination programme in a timely manner to all stakeholders.
• Oversee the printing and distribution of question papers and ensure their confidentiality.
• Recommend postponement or cancellation of examinations in cases of malpractice or unforeseen circumstances, in consultation with the Deputy Vice‑Chancellor.
• Initiate disciplinary action against candidates or staff found guilty of examination malpractice.
• Review examination results and trends, preparing reports for the Deputy Vice‑Chancellor.
• Organize workshops for lecturers on modern assessment methods, question‑bank creation, and the use of ICT in examinations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ relevant work experience in examination administration or academic assessment.
