Education Advisor

About the role

The Education Advisor will support the implementation and scaling of catch‑up education projects across Malawi and the broader region, working closely with strategic advisors and partner organisations. This role bridges field operations with the global office to ensure high‑quality delivery of innovative learning initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design and coordinate strategies that strengthen collaboration with staff, partners and stakeholders for project implementation and monitoring.
• Contribute to sustainability deliverables and oversee the quality of hub activities and innovation proposals.
• Support budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of catch‑up projects, providing technical advice to internal teams and external partners.
• Lead capacity‑development activities for teachers, school leaders and education officials.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of education policy trends, research and best practices, and share insights with the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar role within international development.
• Proven expertise in Catch‑Up or Foundational Literacy and Numeracy programmes.
• Experience working with the Malawian education ecosystem and innovation hubs.
• Strong understanding of national education systems, programme and project cycle management, and change‑management processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
