Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer – Faculty of Commerce & Social Sciences (Volunteer)

About the role

McClintock University is hiring qualified academics for full‑time Professor, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer positions within its Faculty of Commerce and Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities in Lilongwe. The successful candidates will join a mission‑driven institution that values truth, integrity, transparency, love and unity, and will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including syllabi, lecture materials and blended‑learning components.
• Conduct lectures, seminars, tutorials and assess student performance through assignments, exams and projects.
• Supervise student research projects, theses and dissertations, providing academic advising and mentorship.
• Maintain accurate academic records and contribute to program review and curriculum development.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish in reputable journals and present findings at conferences.
• Participate in departmental and university committees and support community‑engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• Advanced academic qualification – PhD preferred or at minimum a relevant Master’s degree in Commerce, Business, Economics, Management, Social Sciences, Humanities or a related field.
• Demonstrated teaching competence in higher education, with experience designing curricula and using diverse instructional methods.
• Proven research record with publications in reputable journals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with a diverse student body and collaborate with colleagues.
• Commitment to the university’s values and to transformative education in leadership and community development.
• Experience in student advising, supervision of theses/dissertations and participation in quality‑assurance processes.

Required skills

• Learning Management Systems (LMS) for online and blended teaching.
