Assistant ODeL Programmes Officer (Student Support)

About the role

The University of Malawi is seeking an Assistant ODeL Programmes Officer to support open distance and e‑learning (ODeL) students. The role involves implementing policies, coordinating academic activities, and providing career guidance to ensure quality and student success. The officer will also contribute to resource management and maintain the programme’s student database.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ODeL policies, plans, strategies and standards.
• Facilitate registration and admission of ODeL students.
• Coordinate and implement academic activities for ODeL programmes.
• Implement quality assurance standards for ODeL programmes.
• Provide career guidance to open distance and e‑learning students.
• Respond to staff and students’ inquiries, queries and grievances.
• Organise and conduct public awareness activities.
• Monitor students’ progress and dropout rates.
• Implement and monitor effective, efficient and economic utilisation of resources.
• Maintain ODeL programmes and the student databank.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ relevant experience.
