Trainee Business Manager

About the role

As a Trainee Business Manager you will support Old Mutual in delivering high‑quality service to customers while developing a solid foundation in sales, relationship management and business development. This entry‑level position offers exposure to a broad range of activities across customer service, solutions analysis and market intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service, process cases and resolve complex queries.
• Analyse problems to propose technical or professional solutions.
• Receive visitors, address information requests and refer complex matters.
• Enter follow‑up actions and customer data into the CRM system to maintain accurate records.
• Clarify customer needs, tailor presentations and gather information to assess interest.
• Develop and implement relationship‑management plans for prospective accounts.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies and regulatory codes.
• Monitor sales and market data for a defined geographic region to identify growth opportunities.
• Create sales opportunities by networking at sector events and gathering market intelligence.
• Conduct research and use business‑intelligence tools to explore data trends.
• Participate in internal and external networks to share ideas and best practices.
