Territory Sales Manager – Malawi

About the role

BURN is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive its market expansion in Malawi. The role works closely with the management team to build a stable and profitable operation across the assigned province.

Key responsibilities

• Lead team leaders and agents to achieve sales forecasts and ensure quality sales.
• Manage stock with agents, minimize loss, and oversee stock levels and verification.
• Report field activities including sales, financial reconciliation, data entry, and creditability of data.
• Train team leaders, agents, and customers on business procedures and company policies.
• Recruit and manage team leaders and agents, set sales targets, and develop distribution partnerships with wholesalers, retailers, NGOs and government institutions.
• Coordinate with warehouse officers and logistics providers to ensure timely product delivery.
• Gather market intelligence on the improved cookstove sector, competitors, and distribution partners.

Required profile

• First‑degree qualification, preferably in business, market intelligence or marketing.
• At least 1 year of project management experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of sales and marketing in the Malawi context, especially consumer durables or FMCG.
• Strong analytical background with experience handling sales and marketing data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Entrepreneurial attitude, willingness to work hands‑on and “sell for good”.
• Experience developing B2B distribution partnerships and managing key accounts across various channels.
• Proven ability to manage a budget and recruit diverse sales teams.
