Temporary Driver – 5 Positions

About the role

ESC0M is seeking temporary drivers to operate and maintain its fleet of vehicles in the MEAP – South region for an eight‑month contract. The role involves safely transporting staff, performing routine vehicle checks, and ensuring all vehicle documentation is up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Drive ESCOM vehicles for official duties.
• Report any motor defects to the relevant authority.
• Transport staff as assigned.
• Perform routine checks and minor maintenance to keep vehicles road‑worthy.
• Update vehicle log books daily.
• Report accidents and any unauthorised use of the vehicle.
• Verify the validity of vehicle documents.

Required profile

• Holder of a Class C1 driving licence.
• Minimum two (2) years of relevant driving experience.
• Possession of the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
• Physically fit and able to work under pressure.
• Ability to manage time effectively in a high‑pressure setting.
• Be sober minded.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
