Systems Support Officer

About the role

Nyasa Cloud Limited is seeking a Systems Support Officer to deliver technical assistance to customers, maintain cloud infrastructure, and ensure high availability of hosting services. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting, works well with both users and technical systems, and is committed to excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for hosting, email, DNS, SSL, and server issues.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers.
• Create and manage hosting accounts, domains, databases, and email services.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, respond to incidents, and perform routine maintenance, updates, and security checks.
• Assist customers with website migrations and service onboarding.
• Escalate complex problems to senior engineers and maintain accurate documentation of support cases.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or technical support.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a customer‑first mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize multiple requests.

Required skills

• Linux administration (Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CentOS).
• Windows Server administration.
• DNS management.
• Web hosting platforms such as cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin.
• Microsoft 365 and business email platforms.
• Apache and Nginx web servers.
• MySQL or MariaDB database management.
• SSL certificate management.
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing).
• Virtualization technologies (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper‑V).
• Cloud infrastructure concepts, backup and disaster recovery.
