Senior Project Officer – Field (Child Protection & ECD)

About the role

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is seeking a Senior Project Officer to lead the implementation of a multi‑country child development, care, and protection project. The role is field‑based and focuses on strengthening child protection systems, supporting families, and advancing early childhood development.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and lead implementation of all assigned project activities according to the detailed implementation plan, donor requirements, and CRS quality standards.
• Coordinate and oversee relationships with government counterparts, local partners, community structures, and faith‑based networks.
• Conduct ad‑hoc inspections of project sites to ensure timely implementation and compliance with processes.
• Track resource use, review budgets and milestones, and support implementing partners with financial follow‑up.
• Facilitate capacity‑building and technical support activities for partners.
• Ensure comprehensive project documentation and reporting, including monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior‑level project management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong coordination and relationship‑management skills with government, NGOs, and community actors.
• Ability to analyze implementation challenges and propose adjustments.
• Experience in budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting.
• Commitment to child protection, family strengthening, and early childhood development objectives.
