Nutrition Specialist (NO-3) – Fixed Term – Lilongwe, Malawi

About the role

Under the guidance of the Chief, Nutrition, the Nutrition Specialist will support the strengthening of Malawi’s national nutrition systems. The role focuses on improving coordination, data quality, governance and evidence use to achieve better nutrition outcomes for children, adolescents and women.

Key responsibilities

• Support multisectoral coordination and linkages to drive integrated nutrition actions.
• Contribute to national and sub‑national coordination platforms, ensuring UNICEF priorities are reflected.
• Strengthen and digitalise nutrition information systems to improve data quality, availability and use.
• Assist with annual project assessments, monitoring processes and high‑quality programme reporting.
• Provide technical support for nutrition governance, policy alignment and updating of guidelines and frameworks.
• Generate and manage nutrition evidence, including documentation, analysis and dissemination of lessons learned and best practices.

Required profile

• Dynamic, committed professional with experience in nutrition programmes and evidence‑based interventions.
• Open to Malawian nationals only.
• Ability to work collaboratively across sectors and with government partners.
