National Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Technical Coordinator - Malawi

About the role

Palladium, funded by the UK FCDO, leads the National and Community Technical Assistance component of the Tackling Deadly Diseases in Africa Programme Phase 2 (TDDAP2). From April 2026, the programme increases its focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi and Uganda, working with national governments and partners to strengthen AMR governance, surveillance and reporting, and laboratory systems using a One Health approach. Palladium is seeking four National AMR Technical Coordinators, including one for Malawi, for a full-time, 10-month fixed-term role based in Lilongwe. Candidates must have the right to live and work in Malawi; visa sponsorship is not considered.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all in-country AMR work, keeping partners and consultants on track and flagging risks to deadlines
• Develop Terms of Reference for technical assistance providers and oversee AMR inputs from partners and consultants
• Review technical deliverables and provide mentoring and technical support to consultants
• Maintain strong relationships with national stakeholders and AMR governance bodies, and keep up to date with the AMR situation in the country
• Support workplan development and reporting to FCDO (monthly updates, quarterly and annual reports)
• Act as an ambassador for TDDAP2 and Palladium at meetings, events and workshops
