Food & Beverage Manager – Lilongwe

About the role

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all culinary, restaurant, beverage and room‑service operations at the Protea Hotel by Marriott in Lilongwe. This role ensures guest satisfaction, employee engagement and the achievement of financial targets while maintaining compliance with all relevant food‑and‑beverage regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and manage budgets, cost‑control measures and financial plans for all food‑and‑beverage outlets.
• Lead and supervise the Food & Beverage team, handling day‑to‑day operations and stepping in to perform duties when needed.
• Maintain high standards of service, promptly addressing guest concerns and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Oversee culinary, restaurant, bar and room‑service functions, ensuring consistency with brand standards.
• Drive employee engagement through coaching, performance feedback and recognition.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least four years of relevant experience, OR a two‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field with at least two years of experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food‑and‑beverage laws, regulations and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs and meet financial objectives.
