Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all culinary, restaurant, beverage and room‑service operations at Protea Hotel by Marriott Lilongwe. The role ensures guest satisfaction, employee engagement and the achievement of financial targets while complying with all relevant food‑and‑beverage regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and control budgets for all Food & Beverage departments, maintaining cost‑management targets.
• Lead and supervise the Food & Beverage team, handling day‑to‑day operations and stepping in to perform duties when needed.
• Oversee culinary, restaurant, bar and room‑service functions, ensuring consistent quality and service standards.
• Drive exceptional customer service, responding promptly to guest concerns and upholding the brand’s service culture.
• Coach, mentor and evaluate staff, fostering a motivated, collaborative work environment.
• Track productivity, set clear performance expectations and reward achievements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relevant Food & Beverage experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, etc., with at least 2 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of food‑and‑beverage laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and meet financial goals.
