Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all culinary, restaurant, beverage and room‑service operations at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Lilongwe. The role ensures guest satisfaction, maintains high service standards, and meets financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and control budgets for all Food & Beverage outlets, maintaining cost‑management indices.
• Lead and supervise the Food & Beverage team, handling day‑to‑day operations and stepping in to perform duties when needed.
• Oversee culinary, restaurant, bar and room‑service functions, ensuring compliance with food‑service laws and regulations.
• Drive exceptional customer service, responding promptly to guest concerns and upholding the brand’s service culture.
• Create and implement business plans that align with financial goals and enhance guest experiences.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least four years of experience in food & beverage, culinary or a related field.
• OR an associate degree (or higher) in Food Service Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related discipline, plus at least two years of relevant experience.
