Executive Housekeeper I

About the role

The Executive Housekeeper I oversees daily housekeeping, recreation/health club and laundry operations at the Protea Hotel by Marriott in Lilongwe. The role ensures guest rooms, public areas and employee spaces are clean, well‑maintained, and meet brand standards while supporting guest and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily housekeeping shift operations, including room assignments, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Front Desk and Engineering to communicate room status and maintenance needs.
• Supervise general cleaning schedules, inventory supplies, and ordering of guestroom and uniform items.
• Maintain departmental cost controls, monitor budgets, payroll reports and strive to meet or exceed financial targets.
• Handle guest complaints, promote exceptional customer service, and drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in HR activities such as staffing, accident investigations, and enforcement of policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of housekeeping or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field with no experience required.
