Field Officer – Agent Network & Distribution

About the role

Wave is expanding its fintech services to Malawi and is looking for a proactive Field Officer to lead the rollout of its mobile money products. You will build and manage a network of local agents, recruit and onboard users, and act as the face of Wave in the territory.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, recruit and train local agents on Wave applications, contracts, fraud management and cash handling.
• Onboard target users and guide them in using Wave’s financial services.
• Collaborate with other Field Officers to drive product adoption across regions.
• Ensure agents comply with legal, policy and branding requirements.
• Monitor cash and float availability at agent locations and manage risk through regular visits.
• Assess agent performance, close under‑performing agents, recover equipment and remove branding material.
• Serve as the primary contact for the agency network, providing excellent customer service and support.
• Coach, train and motivate distributors to meet market impact targets.
• Scout new distribution zones and advise on optimal placement of agents.

Required profile

• Experience in field operations, agent network management or similar distribution roles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑growing environment.
• Comfortable interacting with diverse communities and conducting user interviews.
• Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
