District Implementation Consultant – ACHIEVE Project (Malawi)

About the role

Last Mile Health is seeking experienced District Implementation Consultants to support the ACHIEVE Project in Malawi. The consultants will work closely with the Ministry of Health and local teams to improve community‑based health services for pregnant women and newborns across Balaka and Thyolo districts.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation activities at national and district levels, ensuring alignment with community needs.
• Support the rollout and optimization of the integrated Community Health Information System (iCHIS) and its integration with MAHIS.
• Upskill and supervise over 1,000 community health workers (CHWs) in the use of iCHIS and community‑based maternal and newborn care (CBMNC) protocols.
• Facilitate partner engagement, data collection, reporting, and timely data integration.
• Travel locally up to 60% of the time to provide on‑site guidance and monitoring.

Required profile

• Malawian national with experience in health program implementation and stakeholder coordination.
• Proven ability to work with government health ministries and international partners.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, especially in health data management.

• Data management and integration within health information systems.
