Disability Inclusion Specialist – Child Protection

About the role

The Disability Inclusion Specialist will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of disability‑focused child protection initiatives across Malawi. Working within World Vision Malawi, you will ensure that programmes are inclusive, rights‑based and aligned with national policies on gender equity and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement disability‑related child protection initiatives.
• Provide input to the development of inclusive programming, project models and M&E frameworks.
• Coordinate collaborative design processes with internal stakeholders and external partners, including organisations of persons with disabilities.
• Lead technical support for project teams and area programmes, including grant‑writing and concept note development.
• Advise on disability approaches in emergency contexts and assess specific needs of children with disabilities.
• Train staff, community members and partners on disability inclusion and child protection.
• Represent World Vision in national and international advocacy coalitions and networks.
• Monitor, report, research and document inclusive programme outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in disability inclusion and child protection within an NGO or humanitarian setting.
• Strong knowledge of national policies on gender equity, social inclusion and disability rights.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑stakeholder design processes and advocacy efforts.
• Excellent communication skills for training, networking and representation.
