Technical Advisor II

About the role

The Technical Advisor II will act as the subject‑matter expert for integrated early childhood development, providing technical advice, guidance and support to strengthen child protection, care and development systems in Malawi.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the project’s subject‑matter expert for integrated childhood development, ensuring strategies, tools and training reflect current evidence and standards.
• Assist government, civil society, faith‑based and community actors to develop, adapt and implement policies, regulations, standards, SOPs, tools and guidance at national and sub‑national levels.
• Provide coaching, training, supportive supervision and technical troubleshooting to project teams, partners and system actors to improve practice and program results.
• Collaborate with global technical counterparts, resource partners, MEAL and implementation teams to ensure coordinated, evidence‑based approaches.
• Support MEAL activities, evidence use and adaptive learning to inform program adjustments.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in integrated early childhood development and child protection systems.
• Experience working with government, NGOs, faith‑based and community stakeholders in Malawi or similar contexts.
• Ability to coach, train and supervise technical teams.
• Familiarity with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) processes.
