Project Coordinator – TiKuMA Education Project

About the role

Save the Children, in partnership with Balaka District Council, is looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to lead the TiKuMA Education Project in Balaka District, Malawi. Based at the District Education Office, you will report to the Director of Education, Youth and Sports and provide strategic leadership to ensure high‑quality implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and budgeting.
• Coordinate with government departments, community structures, development partners and donors.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safeguarding principles are embedded in all activities.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, capacity‑strengthening initiatives and donor coordination.
• Travel to project sites as required and adapt work hours during humanitarian emergencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Previous experience as a primary or secondary school teacher.
• At least four years of experience in education programming and development project coordination.
• Strong leadership, people‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Commitment to children’s rights, safeguarding and high professional integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
