Procurement Officer

About the role

GiveDirectly is seeking a Procurement Officer to support the Operations and Procurement Manager in executing the organization’s procurement function. The role focuses on sourcing competitive quotations, pre‑qualifying vendors, and maintaining audit‑ready procurement records.

Key responsibilities

• Source and compile competitive quotations for goods, services, and works in line with procurement thresholds and policy.
• Conduct market surveys to identify potential suppliers and track pricing trends.
• Prepare quotation comparison sheets and bid analyses to aid decision‑making.
• Pre‑qualify vendors by verifying registration, compliance documents, references, and capacity.
• Maintain and update a categorized pre‑qualified vendor database.
• Support periodic vendor performance evaluations and follow‑up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate delivery, repair, and maintenance timelines with vendors for field equipment and mobile phones.
• Assist in procurement of inventory, supplies, and equipment while ensuring policy compliance.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, orders, and contracts for review and approval.
• Maintain organized, audit‑ready procurement records and flag risks or non‑compliance.
• Provide regular procurement status reports and support ad‑hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment in vendor evaluation.
• Commitment to transparent, well‑documented procurement practices.
