MERL Lead – Triple Elimination (Malawi)

About the role

Pact is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Lead to drive the evaluation and learning agenda for a new triple‑elimination activity in Malawi. The six‑month contract will focus on accelerating the elimination of mother‑to‑child transmission of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B while supporting maternal and child health services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the activity’s evaluation and learning framework, covering performance monitoring (25%) and evaluation (75%).
• Develop data collection tools, oversee data quality, and conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses.
• Produce regular evidence‑based reports and operational insights to inform program implementation and scale‑up.
• Collaborate with program staff, partners and health facilities to integrate monitoring activities into antenatal, delivery and post‑natal services.
• Document best practices and lessons learned for internal and external dissemination.

Required profile

• Proven experience in MERL for health or development projects, preferably in maternal and child health.
• Familiarity with HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B service integration.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving, multi‑partner environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and excellent written communication.
