About the role
Based in our Malawi office, the IT Intern will support the local IT team with day‑to‑day infrastructure management and first‑line technical support. This learning‑focused position is ideal for a recent graduate eager to gain hands‑on experience in IT support and systems administration.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining local IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and endpoint devices.
- Provide first‑line technical support to Malawi‑based staff under supervision.
- Support network security, data backup, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
- Help deploy enterprise software, manage user accounts and access permissions.
- Support audio/video conferencing and collaboration tools.
- Maintain the IT asset inventory and ensure compliance with IT policies.
- Assist with IT training and orientation for new staff.
- Monitor basic application and system health under guidance.
- Document IT runbooks and incident records.
Required profile
- Recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Fluency in English.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN).
- Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as Microsoft 365 or Azure.
- Basic awareness of IT security best practices.
