Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience through immaculate cleanliness and visual standards aboard a cruise ship. This leader ensures premium service execution, maintains high safety and quality standards, and fosters a positive work environment for the housekeeping team.

Key responsibilities

• Own the overall cleanliness and visual impression of all guest areas, ensuring compliance with Royal Caribbean brand and safety standards.
• Lead, train, and develop supervisors and crew members, maintaining a strong floor presence and consistent service delivery.
• Manage chemical handling, equipment use, and safety procedures, including personal protective equipment and job safety analysis.
• Monitor performance expectations, conduct regular communication, and address guest satisfaction issues promptly.
• Collaborate with other departments to align housekeeping operations with overall shipboard standards.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years progressive housekeeping management experience, preferably in upscale hotels, resorts, or cruise ships.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and equipment handling.
• Understanding of talent assessment, quality service standards, and leadership development.
• Familiarity with human‑resources policies and practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using industry software such as SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia, and Kronos.
