Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for delivering a premium guest experience through impeccable cleanliness and visual standards onboard. This role leads the housekeeping team, ensures compliance with safety and brand standards, and drives continuous improvement in service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all housekeeping operations, maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and visual impression throughout the vessel.
• Train, develop, and recognize supervisors and crew members, fostering a positive work environment and strong floor presence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and brand standards, including USPH and SQM guidelines.
• Manage budgeting, inventory, cost containment, and future ordering for housekeeping supplies.
• Address guest concerns promptly, applying problem‑resolution techniques and progressive disciplinary actions when needed.

Required profile

• 2–3 years progressive housekeeping managerial experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical handling, safety procedures, and equipment use.
• Familiarity with talent assessment, HR policies, and crew development.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia, and Kronos.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and procurement.
