Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

The Food & Beverage Manager leads all culinary, restaurant, beverage and room‑service operations at Protea Hotel by Marriott Lilongwe. This full‑time position ensures guest satisfaction, employee engagement and financial performance while upholding brand standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and control budgets for all food‑and‑beverage outlets.
• Oversee daily operations of kitchens, restaurants, bars and room service.
• Maintain compliance with food‑and‑beverage laws, health and safety regulations.
• Lead, coach and schedule the F&B team, covering duties in employees’ absence.
• Drive guest satisfaction by responding promptly to concerns and ensuring service quality.
• Analyze financial results, manage cost‑control measures and achieve revenue targets.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with at least 4 years relevant experience, or a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality or Business Administration with 2 years experience.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs and meet financial goals.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of applicable food‑and‑beverage laws and regulations.
