Financial Director - Blantyre

About the role

A Financial Director is sought to join the team in Blantyre, reporting directly to the Managing Director. The role coordinates and provides effective financial support services across the business and ensures that all financial operations comply with local legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit the region's annual budget on time for Head Office approval, maintain expenditure within approved levels and submit accurate monthly forecasts.
• Process decentralized accounting transactions accurately and on time using the G4S ERP system, and keep detailed records with supporting source documentation.
• Manage the regional Accounts Receivable function with effective credit control, analyze monthly accounts, review performance against budgets and highlight variances.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and coordinate litigation, insurance and other related claims.
• Manage finance department personnel through regular performance assessments and drive skills development and career path planning.
• Take part in designing, implementing and monitoring safety plans, attend safety forums, report safety incidents and comply with safety policies.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Financial Management or Accounting; a postgraduate degree is highly advantageous.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant, registered as a Chartered Accountant Malawi (CA(M)) with active membership of ICAM and MAB.
• Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in Accounting and/or Finance.
• In-depth knowledge of Malawian company law and local tax regulations.
• Familiarity with security industry legislation and G4S Finance policies is a strong advantage.
