District Child Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The District Child Health and Nutrition Officer will provide technical and programmatic support for the ACHIEVE project, strengthening integrated child health and nutrition services at district, facility and community levels.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and coordination of child health and nutrition interventions, including emergency obstetric and newborn care.
• Strengthen capacity of frontline health workers through training, mentoring, coaching and supportive supervision.
• Promote and apply quality‑improvement tools to enhance maternal and newborn health service delivery.
• Identify gaps in service delivery, commodity availability and supply management.
• Collaborate with district health teams and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated activities.
• Conduct supportive supervision visits and follow‑up actions to improve service quality.
• Develop and adapt technical tools, job aids, training materials and project documentation.
• Monitor routine activities and track progress toward project targets.

Required profile

• Experience supporting child health and nutrition programs at district or community level.
• Experience in capacity‑building of health workers and use of quality‑improvement approaches.
• Familiarity with monitoring and reporting of health project indicators.
• Ability to work closely with district health teams and multiple stakeholders.
