Consultant – Expert Technical Review & Packaging of MNH Training Guidelines

About the role

Pact is seeking an experienced consultant to lead the expert technical review, finalization, editing and packaging of the Integrated Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) Training Guidelines for Malawi. The consultant will work closely with the Ministry of Health’s Reproductive Health Directorate and a broad coalition of partners to ensure the guidelines are evidence‑based, aligned with national policies and ready for nationwide implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a thematic expert review of draft MNH guidelines across maternal health, newborn health and related content areas.
• Incorporate feedback from stakeholder consultations, technical workshops and partner reviews.
• Ensure alignment with Malawi Ministry of Health policies, protocols and global best practices.
• Finalize guideline content, edit for clarity, consistency and technical accuracy.
• Produce a fully packaged set of training guidelines, including formatting, annexes and supporting materials.
• Coordinate with MoH, UNICEF, CHAI, Jhpiego and other partners to validate revisions.
• Manage the review timeline and deliverables to meet project milestones.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maternal and newborn health guideline development or similar technical documentation.
• Familiarity with Malawi health policies and the MNH landscape.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑stakeholder technical reviews and incorporate diverse inputs.
• Strong analytical and editorial judgment for health‑focused content.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
