About the role
The Clinical Dietitian will deliver evidence‑based, patient‑centered nutrition care within the Secondary Care and Programs department. Working in both general and critical care settings, the role focuses on improving health outcomes for patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, diagnose needs, and develop individualized dietetic care plans.
- Guide the food service team in menu development aligned with national hospital catering guidelines.
- Document and maintain accurate patient nutrition records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Provide individual and group dietary counseling for non‑communicable diseases and other health conditions.
- Lead quality‑improvement activities, including audits, CPDs, and supervision of food handling and sanitation.
- Conduct operational research and disseminate findings to enhance clinical practice.
- Deliver in‑service training on nutrition principles to healthcare workers.
- Support district‑level nutrition policy development and resource mobilization.
Required profile
- BSc in Clinical Dietetics or a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Dietetics from an accredited institution.
- Master’s degree in Dietetics is an advantage.
- Registered and in good standing with the relevant medical council.
