About the role
The Clinical Dietitian will deliver evidence‑based, patient‑centered nutrition care within the Secondary Care and Programs department. Working full‑time on‑site, the role supports both general and critical care patients across a range of medical and surgical conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, diagnoses, and develop individualized care plans.
- Guide food service teams in menu development aligned with national hospital catering guidelines.
- Document and maintain accurate patient nutrition records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Provide individual and group dietary counseling for non‑communicable diseases and other health conditions.
- Lead quality improvement activities, audits, and supervise food preparation, handling, and sanitation.
- Participate in operational research, outreach, and in‑service training for healthcare workers.
- Contribute to district‑level nutrition policy development and resource mobilization.
Required profile
- BSc in Clinical Dietetics or a postgraduate diploma from an accredited institution (Masters in Dietetics is a plus).
- Registered and in good standing with the medical council.
- Based in Malawi and able to work full‑time (40 hours/week).
Required skills
