Senior Tax Consultant – Business Tax

About the role

Deloitte is looking for a highly motivated Senior Tax Consultant to join its Business Tax team in Malawi. The role involves delivering high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of local and multinational clients while supervising junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate income tax computations, deferred tax calculations and withholding tax obligations.
• Deliver tax advisory projects, including tax planning, business restructurings and transaction support.
• Build and maintain effective client relationships, acting as the primary day‑to‑day contact.
• Coordinate multiple engagements, monitor timelines and budgets, and ensure high‑quality documentation.
• Supervise, mentor and coach junior team members, promoting continuous improvement.
• Identify business development opportunities and support marketing initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, firm methodologies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CA, CPA) or significant progress toward it.
• 3–5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in a Big 4 or professional services environment.
• Experience preparing corporate tax compliance work and exposure to tax advisory engagements.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
