Senior Green Logistics / Low-Emission Transport Expert

About the role
NTU International is seeking a senior expert to lead the development and implementation of green logistics and low‑emission transport strategies across the ECOWAS region in West Africa. The role supports the EU‑funded project “Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance” and contributes to building sustainable, resilient, and climate‑smart mobility systems.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement green logistics and low‑emission transport strategies and initiatives.
- Provide technical assistance on sustainable freight systems, fuel‑efficiency measures, and environmentally sustainable transport solutions.
- Promote low‑emission vehicles, sustainable mobility practices, and green corridor initiatives.
- Advise on transport decarbonisation, emissions‑reduction measures, and sustainable logistics frameworks.
- Contribute to technical guidelines, policy recommendations, and operational frameworks for green transport.
- Integrate environmental sustainability and climate considerations into corridor management and transport planning.
- Conduct assessments of logistics efficiency, emissions reduction, and sustainable transport practices.
- Coordinate with transport authorities, logistics operators, private‑sector stakeholders, development partners, and regional institutions.
- Deliver workshops, technical training, and capacity‑building activities on green logistics and low‑emission transport.
- Support monitoring, reporting, and analytical outputs related to sustainable logistics and transport decarbonisation.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in transport engineering, logistics, environmental management, sustainable mobility, climate policy, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in logistics, sustainable transport, green mobility, or environmental sustainability.
- Proven experience on transport or logistics projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
- Experience in international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
- At least 7 years of experience specifically in green logistics, low‑emission transport systems, or sustainable mobility initiatives.
Required skills
- Expert knowledge of green logistics and low‑emission transport concepts.
- Strong understanding of transport decarbonisation and fuel‑efficiency programmes.
- Ability to develop technical guidelines, policy recommendations, and operational frameworks.
- Experience delivering capacity‑building workshops and technical training.
