Senior DTM Associate

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Malawi is seeking a Senior DTM Associate to support the Regional Responses to Climate Displacements in Sub‑Saharan Africa (RE2CLID) project. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the DTM Officer, the incumbent will provide technical assistance for displacement data tracking, analysis and management, helping to generate reliable information for policy and programme development.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and coordination of displacement data needs assessments to identify gaps in existing data frameworks.
• Participate in the development and review of tools, methodologies and Standard Operating Procedures for data collection, storage, processing and dissemination.
• Coordinate data collection activities, ensure quality control, and correct data in collaboration with field enumerators and DTM colleagues.
• Maintain data confidentiality and apply IOM’s data protection principles.
• Assist in the recruitment, deployment and training of enumerators.
• Liaise with ministries, UN agencies, NGOs and local authorities to facilitate data collection and information sharing.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Mission or DTM Officer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (field relevant to migration, disaster risk management, social sciences or related).
• Proven experience in displacement data collection, monitoring or related humanitarian data management.
• Strong understanding of climate‑induced displacement and disaster risk reduction contexts.
• Ability to work under supervision while taking ownership of technical tasks.
