Enumerator for Climate Displacement Baseline Assessment

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking enumerators to support a baseline sub‑area assessment on climate‑induced displacement and mobility across several districts in Malawi. The role involves gathering essential data that will inform preparedness, anticipatory action, and evidence‑based decision‑making before future climate shocks occur.

Key responsibilities

• Collect household and community data on population distribution, at‑risk areas, livelihoods, and access to essential services.
• Record information on climate hazard exposure, coping strategies, early warning systems, and mobility patterns.
• Ensure data quality and adherence to survey protocols during field visits.
• Provide timely and accurate data to IOM and partner organisations.

Required profile

• Ability to travel to and work in the target districts of Blantyre, Chikwawa, Dowa, Mangochi, Mulanje, Nsanje, Phalombe, and Blantyre City.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with community members.
• Commitment to collecting reliable data for humanitarian and climate‑related programmes.
