About the role

The University of Malawi is seeking three dedicated Porters to join its campus support team. The role involves providing front‑line assistance to visitors, staff and students, ensuring smooth operation of daily campus activities and maintaining a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to and direct visitors to the appropriate offices.
• Receive, sign for, and distribute hand‑delivered mail.
• Take and relay messages accurately.
• Maintain the time register and record keeping.
• Act as the first point of contact for student welfare emergencies.
• Undertake fire‑safety duties and manage emergency response procedures.
• Hold and manage keys for all rooms, ensuring they are properly locked.

Required profile

• Minimum qualification: MSCE (Malawi School Certificate of Education).
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
