Operations Coordinator – Green Climate Fund Project (6 months)

About the role

Save the Children is looking for an Operations Coordinator to support a climate‑resilience programme funded by the Green Climate Fund. The role will enhance operational efficiency, financial tracking and stakeholder coordination across district and national levels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operationalise detailed implementation workplans.
• Track progress through operational dashboards and resolve bottlenecks.
• Coordinate across teams to ensure alignment and efficient execution.
• Monitor budget utilisation and align expenditures with implementation plans in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
• Support procurement and contracting processes alongside the Supply Chain Coordinator.
• Strengthen field‑level stakeholder coordination, communication and escalation with government partners.
• Identify operational risks and support mitigation measures with senior management and the GCF Programme Management Unit.
• Provide crisis management support and adapt working hours during major humanitarian emergencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in NGO programme operations and delivery.
• Proven experience leading complex programme operations in development or humanitarian settings.
• Strong crisis management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Analytical skills to track performance and identify operational gaps.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in risk management within programme implementation.
• Desirable: experience in budget management, financial tracking, understanding of government systems and strong stakeholder coordination.
