Market Access Lead – Malawi

About the role
The Market Access Lead will drive the development and scaling of high‑value cash‑crop value chains in Malawi for One Acre Fund. Based in Zomba, you will own the strategy, execution and expansion of buy‑back programmes, enabling smallholder farmers to increase incomes and creating sustainable export revenue.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Malawi Market Access strategy, set long‑term vision, seasonal targets and work plans.
- Build and manage a growing Market Access team, including hiring of HQ and field staff.
- Own end‑to‑end buy‑back activities from planning through farmer adoption, aggregation and commercialization.
- Strengthen and scale the chili buy‑back value chain with a three‑year growth plan.
- Revamp the soy buy‑back model to improve margins and market reach.
- Identify, design and launch new high‑value crop value chains based on impact and market analysis.
- Support the development of processing services such as solar dryers to increase farmer returns.
