Logistics and Inventory Management Officer

About the role

The Logistics and Inventory Management Officer (LIMO) will support the Field Administration team in handling recipient mobile phones and other GiveDirectly assets. Working closely with the Field Admin Associate Manager and the ICT Associate Manager, the LIMO ensures accurate tracking, safe storage, and efficient distribution of inventory while keeping the Operations & Procurement Manager informed of stock levels and logistics risks.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee receipt, storage, packing, and dispatch of recipient phones and other assets following standard operating procedures.
• Organise warehouse layout to prioritise secure, efficient storage and retrieval of phones.
• Enforce safety, security, and access‑control protocols, especially in phone storage areas.
• Track inventory levels, set reorder points, and prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, full physical stock takes, and participate in asset verification exercises.
• Maintain and update the phone and asset inventory database using internal tools.
• Tag and distribute phones to staff/field teams and retrieve them at the end of contracts or program cycles.
• Coordinate repair, maintenance, and condition assessments of phones and other equipment.
• Maintain insurance records and process asset disposal, including claims for lost or damaged items.

Required profile

• Strong organisational discipline and a safety‑first mindset.
• Comfort with using digital tools to track inventory accurately.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain audit‑ready records.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Suite and related inventory tracking tools.
