Human Resources Officer (Fixed-Term) – Lilongwe, Malawi

About the role

UNICEF is looking for a dynamic Human Resources Officer to join its People and Culture team in Lilongwe, Malawi. The role supports the implementation of the People and Culture Strategy (2026–2029) and contributes to building an enabled, motivated and high‑performing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR business partnership and advisory support across the employee lifecycle.
• Deliver generalist HR services, ensuring policy‑compliant and people‑centred solutions.
• Drive efficiency and improvement of HR processes and workplace culture.
• Support talent and performance management, workforce analytics and learning initiatives.
• Contribute to emergency response operations as required.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to give sound HR guidance and advisory support.
• Strong analytical skills with capacity to assess issues and draw conclusions.
• Experience in generalist HR functions, employee relations and service delivery.
• Commitment to UNICEF’s mission and to promoting children’s rights.
