Finance Director

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Finance Director to lead financial operations in our Blantyre office. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will provide strategic financial support, ensure compliance with local legislation, and drive business performance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit the annual regional budget, enforce budgetary controls, and deliver monthly forecasts to manage business risks.
• Process decentralized accounting transactions using the G4S ERP system, maintain accurate records, and oversee the Accounts Receivable function with effective credit control.
• Analyse monthly accounts, compare performance against budgets, identify trends, and present variances to senior management.
• Lead cost‑saving initiatives, coordinate litigation, insurance, and related claims.
• Manage finance team performance, conduct regular assessments, and develop career paths for staff.
• Participate in safety planning, attend safety forums, and ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management or Accounting; postgraduate degree is advantageous.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant, registered as CA(M) with active membership in ICAM and the Malawi Accountants Board.
• Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in accounting or finance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the G4S ERP system.
