Finance Assistant

About the role

WUSC, a Canadian global development organization, is seeking a Finance Assistant to support its financial operations in Malawi. The role involves daily financial management, transaction processing, and partner support under the supervision of the Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the annual budget and tracking expenditures for projects and partners.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, issue invoices, and record donations or grant income.
• Prepare and issue advances and reimbursements for staff and partners, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Liaise with vendors, banks, and partners to resolve payment or account issues.
• Maintain accurate financial records using designated accounting software and support reconciliation of partner reports.

Required profile

• Proficiency in accounting software and data entry.
• Strong command of English.
• Ability to support implementing partners with financial due diligence and reporting.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Mar 2027 (renewable for one year).
