Enumerator for Household Survey in Dowa, Malawi

About the role

Orant Charities Africa is seeking enumerators to conduct household interviews in the Kasese Catchment Area, Dowa district, Malawi. The 14‑day assignment supports the evaluation of health, education, agriculture and water‑sanitation programmes by gathering accurate field data.

Key responsibilities

• Interview households and record responses using electronic devices.
• Capture GPS coordinates of surveyed locations.
• Enter and verify data for accuracy and completeness.
• Report progress and challenges to the Survey Coordinator regularly.
• Obtain signed consent from participants and ensure data confidentiality.
• Conduct follow‑up visits to complete missing information.

Required profile

• Resident of Kasese, Dowa or nearby towns (no accommodation provided).
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Public Health or a related field.
• Own a smartphone capable of data collection.
• Fluent in English and Chichewa, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven experience conducting surveys.

Required skills

• Strong IT proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
