Audit Manager

About the role

EY Malawi is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead external audit and assurance engagements across the Malawi market. You will apply EY’s audit methodology, IFRS, and International Standards on Auditing to help clients meet their financial reporting and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and reporting of external audit engagements, ensuring compliance with EY methodology and regulatory standards.
• Manage audit fieldwork at client sites, coordinating with engagement teams, clients and other EY service lines.
• Evaluate audit risk, accounting technical matters and key judgement areas, providing guidance to the team.
• Review audit work, maintain documentation and quality standards before sign‑off.
• Identify improvement opportunities in clients’ processes, controls and financial reporting and prepare value‑adding management letter recommendations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify cross‑selling opportunities for EY services.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and International Standards on Auditing.
• Sound understanding of audit quality, risk management and compliance procedures.
• Ability to lead teams, coach junior staff and promote effective collaboration.
