About the role
The Food & Beverage Manager (Level I) will lead all food and beverage operations at Protea Hotel by Marriott Lilongwe, including culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service areas. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while meeting financial targets and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for all Food & Beverage departments, ensuring cost control and profitability.
- Lead and supervise the Food & Beverage team, handling day‑to‑day operations and stepping in to perform duties when needed.
- Oversee culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room‑service services, ensuring high standards of quality and service.
- Drive employee engagement, provide coaching, and foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Respond promptly to guest concerns, ensuring swift resolution and maintaining brand service standards.
- Maintain compliance with food and beverage laws, regulations, and health‑safety requirements.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and achieve financial goals.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on employee development.
