Country Commercial Lead – Malawi

About the role

The Country Commercial Lead for Malawi will act as the commercial driver for Bayer's Crop Science business, tasked with turning around the corn segment and delivering sustainable, profitable growth. This senior position requires aligning commercial ambition with supply realities while rebuilding market leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the turnaround of the Malawi business, restoring profitable growth and commercial discipline.
• Own the country P&L, focusing on net sales, gross profit, EBIT, margin recovery, cost efficiency and cash generation.
• Partner with Finance to implement a robust credit management framework and reduce Days Sales Outstanding.
• Drive business planning and forecasting with a turnaround lens, reallocating resources to high‑impact opportunities.
• Integrate unit support functions with field operations to close execution gaps and align demand generation with supply availability.
• Rebuild strategic relationships with government bodies, regulators and key distribution partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in turnaround leadership within a commercial environment.
• Strong commercial and channel leadership capabilities.
• Demonstrated governance, risk discipline and compliance management.
• Cross‑functional leadership experience, working across finance, supply chain and sales.
• Change leadership and resilience in volatile markets.
