About the role
The FAO, in partnership with the Government of Malawi and funded by the Green Climate Fund, seeks a creative Illustrator to support the Ecosystem‑based Adaptation for Resilient Watersheds and Communities (EbAM) project. The role focuses on producing visual communication materials that enhance project visibility and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Design and produce project communication products such as banners, apparel mock‑ups, and presentation templates using the project visual identity.
- Review training manuals, modules, and posters, develop a workplan, and create original illustrations for IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials.
- Collaborate closely with the Office of Communications and relevant focal points to ensure illustrations meet audience needs and project objectives.
- Provide additional design support and related duties as required by the project team.
Required profile
- Works under the supervision of the FAO Representative with technical guidance from the Chief Technical Advisor and Communications Specialist.
- Demonstrates ability to translate textual concepts into clear visual representations.
- Committed to delivering high‑quality graphics that align with the project's climate‑resilience goals.
Required skills
- Proficiency with professional graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong illustration and visual storytelling abilities.
